Kitchen / Great Room – Complete Remodel

This project was a complete remodel that totally changed the existing core of the house into one Great Room. New openings were created between the Living Room, Dining Room, Den and Kitchen.

The galley shaped Kitchen, previously walled off separately, emerged as the new heart of the home with a welcoming center peninsula featuring a new gas cooktop and stainless steel vent hood. All the cabinetry in the Kitchen was replaced with custom-built and custom-finished cabinets. By tearing out the fur-down, the cabinets could reach to the ceiling. To keep them not feeling too tall and overpowering, glass front doors were built at top and allow the client to display favorite glass ware. A new dark marble countertop provides a defining focal point. A new patterned back splash extends to the windowsill. The tile here matches the new tile on the flooring.
