Kitchen – Refresh & Renovate

For this client, we created a new fresh look for their kitchen without doing any structural changes.

Countertop space was gained with microwave/vent hood above stove

Custom rustic-finish cabinet layout integrates appliances

New countertops, sink, faucets and tile backsplash totally change the look

A custom free-standing hutch built to match the new cabinets

The refrigerator hasn’t changed places, but looks great with new cabinets

The ‘galley’ layout of the kitchen already worked well for them, but we were able to gain more countertop space by installing a new Microwave / Vent Hood combination above their existing stove. Beyond being able to achieve the layout and custom rustic finish the client desired, two other factors led us to recommend building custom cabinets: they wanted a hutch/furniture look on one end and this room also holds the clothes washer. By extending the countertop and backsplash across the clothes washer it looks clean and totally integrated with the kitchen space. In addition, the client had us paint the connecting living room / dining room space as part of the overall renovation.
