If you are basically pleased with how you are able to work in your current kitchen, you are a good candidate for a surface-level refresh and renovate. We can accomplish a strong change in the feel of your kitchen for a reasonable budget. The most dramatic change that can be achieved in a refresh & renovate project is to change your cabinetry. At Josey Construction we specialize in well-priced custom kitchen cabinetry made to fit your lifestyle. But in addition, existing cabinets can also be transformed with a new paint treatment and hardware. Consider new hardware, or a new kitchen faucet. New hardware is a great way to dress up cabinets. Think double-duty such as long, horizontal drawer pulls you can also hang towels on. To really complete the transformation, this is the best time to replace your counter tops and backsplash. Flooring also comes into play, and a change here updates the entire surrounding area.

Complete Remodeling

If you're finding your current kitchen does not work for your lifestyle or the needs of your family, the choice is a complete tear out and remodel. Remember it's not just the look of the kitchen! You're dealing with the underlying structure of plumbing, gas and electrical systems. Layout changes, such as switching stove, sink or refrigerator locations, do drive up the cost of kitchen remodeling, so you should to be aware of this as you are compiling your 'wish list'. When addressing planning for a client who wants a complete remodel, we will ask these addtional questions:

Refresh & Renovate Remodel

For this client, we created a new fresh look for their kitchen without doing any structural changes. The 'galley' layout of the kitchen already worked will for them, but we were able to gain more countertop space by installing a new Microwave / Vent Hood combination above their existing stove. Beyond being able to achieve the layout and custom rustic finish the client desired, two other factors led us to recommend building custom cabinets: they wanted a hutch/furniture look on one end and this room also holds the clothes washer. By extending the countertop and backsplash across the clothes washer it looks clean and totally integrated with the kitchen space. In addition, the client had us paint the connecting living room / dining room space as part of the overall renovation.

With over 28 years of experience in the construction industry, owner and project manager Colin Josey brings a broad range of skills to new kitchen and kitchen remodeling projects. (Read his full Profile) Colin chose to work in this industry because he started as a Certified Carpentry Journeyman as a young man, and has thorougly enjoyed being involved in all phases of construction ever since. He loves working in the north Dallas area because his family has made their home here, and he enjoys the people and places in Texas.
